I love bone broth and I take it daily. It has so many benefits that it is hard to list them all here. Just like fermented foods, bone broth is an ancient recipe that has been used for centuries.

Not only it is still made and consumed today, but it is very trendy. There are even shops that specialize in bone broth.

All bone broths – cattle, fish, poultry – are nutrient-dense foods that are easy to digest and boost healing. The preparation process that uses simmering of the bones and ligaments for an extended time, releases amino acids, collagen, chondroitin sulfate, glucosamine, etc. and these are essential for a good health.

Excalibur’s 5-Tray Dehydrator

You can’t embark on a health journey without a dehydrator.

Dehydration is the healthiest, easiest and one of the most economical ways to preserve foods. It concentrates the natural flavor, sweetness and aromas of your food. Leaving you with a flavor that’s far healthier than the processed, high-sugar snacks that are filled with chemical preservatives.

I use the Excalibur mostly to make beef jerky and dehydrate fruits such as apples, bananas, mangoes, kiwis, etc.

This machine comes with a 10-year warranty – a no-brainer!

Hamilton Beach’s 5-Tray Digital Food Dehydrator

This is the dehydrator I first bought when I began my health journey. I still use it regularly and I have been very happy with it.

It dehydrates the same things as the Excalibur but is a little quieter. The only downside to it is that warm air blows from a center column that cuts through the trays. Although the dehydration process is great, the surface of the tray is reduced. That said, it is not really a big deal and this toy is still a great starter.

Doulton Countertop or Undersink Water Filter

I cannot stress enough the importance of the quality of water you use for drinking and washing you produce. If you own a house, you would ideally install a complete water filtration system at the water main so that you have clean water everywhere, including in your bathroom. What I personally have is an undersink system from Doulton, with 2 cartridges: 1 for Chlorine, heavy metals and other contaminants; and the other for fluoride and arsenic.

Electric Water Distiller

This is a great little electric water distiller. It won’t take much space on your countertop and you will likely use it on a daily basis. It is the easiest way to make the purest water. In just about 5.5 hours, this machine will distill 1 gallon (close to 4 litres) of water. It comes with a glass collection bottle and a porcelain nozzle insert.

6 activated charcoal sachets are also included for the purpose of removing vapor contaminants such as chlorine during the distillation process. 1 sachet is good for about 1 month.
